Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired. Lions founded LEBWCO more than 25 years ago, and the eye bank continues to be supported by local Lions Clubs who provide leadership by serving on our all-volunteer Board of Directors and making financial contributions.

TBI/Tissue Banks International

LEBWCO is a member of TBI/Tissue Banks International, a non-profit network of eye and tissue banks. TBI helps us ensure that all suitable tissue is makes its way to a transplant recipient by distributing tissue that is not needed in our community to other areas of the U.S. and around the world. They also offer administrative services that allow LEBWCO staff to focus on our goals of promoting donation and recovering tissue.

Community Tissue Services

Community Tissue Services, based in Dayton, is a quality, ethical provider of services to donor families, medical communities, recipients, and community partners through recovery, processing, and distribution of tissue grafts. CTS and LEBWCO work together to provide corneas in the Toledo area, with CTS coordinating outreach and recovery and LEBWCO managing tissue screening, processing, and distribution.

Life Connection of Ohio

Life Connection of Ohio is the designated Organ Procurement Organization for Northwest and West Central Ohio. LEBWCO and LCO work closely to coordinate the recovery of life-saving organs and tissues.
